Even large format giant BDP (Lithuania) can be confused: "Our production planning? We still used pen and paper..."

Baltic Digital Printing is one of the largest producers of large-format printing and advertising in Lithuania. The company enjoys a good reputation and even Lithuania's biggest advertising and communication agencies, retail chains and shopping centres entrust their advertising to BDP. However, that success story relied on a shaky administration. Business leader Leonas Mončiunskas realised this in time and, after a brief stint with another software, contacted Dataline.

BDP: "Dream Wide!"

Many print production companies dream of Baltic Digital Printing's success story. BDP is a close-knit team of 75 employees led by Leonas Mončiunskas in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. They offer a wide range of products: offset, large format, digital and textile printing. Their biggest source of revenue remains large-format printing and advertising materials such as cardboard displays, light boxes in shopping centres and vinyl stickers for shop decoration, for example.

From pen and paper to digital and automated

Funnily enough, this large format giant often still managed the administration and planning manually (and this team is far from alone in this regard!) The team did use use local CRM and accounting softwares, but these solutions offered little automation. Even prepress was done manually with Enfocus' Pitstop Pro, and stock and production planning was still done with pen and paper!

Business leader Leonas Mončiunskas realised that this could be improved and therefore contacted Dataline. His keen interest in MultiPress modules such as stock control and production and expedition planning was therefore palpable. By using centralised information updated in real time, every department at BDP knows exactly what stage of the production process an order is in. This means fewer errors, less unnecessary work and above all much more time for important services!
