Substantial growth and its consequences

Imprenta is the new flag under which two renowned graphics companies in Wilrijk are jointly sailing: Van Bortel & Co designs and produces advertising materials, and ASAP Photographic Services is a large-format printer. Add to this a great webshop, and this means substantial growth for Imprenta.

Imprenta also needed help in managing production, formatting and sales in terms of administration. That support should also be applied to the different sites, and fit in neatly with the Octopus accounting package. Combine that with the unique specifications of the large-format business, and you have a tricky administrative job on your hands.

Substantial growth and its consequences

Imprenta from Wilrijk is going from strength to strength. The company arose from the merging of ASAP Photographic Services, a photo lab from Antwerp dedicated to large-format photo prints, and Van Bortel & Co, specialised in designing and producing car lettering, window displays, panels, etc. The company has experienced strong growth in a short time, and one of the consequences of this is that the graphics and sales departments are at a different site than production. This makes administration quite a challenge. Imprenta therefore sought out an automation tool that could also serve as administrative glue between both locations.

Seeking administrative simplification.

Imprenta was looking for a business system that brought together all of the facets of typical, complex printing activities – from straightforward business to drawing up material lists, to complex features such as creating a tool with which the calculator can work out the exact cost price of jobs, carrying out placement planning and uniting all cost items into one platform so they can be checked and invoiced in no time. Moreover, all of the parameters playing a part in the printing process had to be taken into account.

MultiPress came to its attention through fellow printing firm Copycat. The fact the MIS/ERP software has a brand-new large-format module on board was the icing on the administrative cake. From now on, MultiPress provides smooth monitoring of every quotation and/or order, straightforward customer management and automated mailings.
